Hello. I am new here, so I have no idea if this has been asked yet... I have had this problem in DOS since the early alpha where no icons for abilities or items show up on the interface (e.g. in the inventory screen and the quick bar slots). There are also no portraits of the heroes in the top-left corner, either, just two empty squares that show their names on mouseover. I wonder if that is normal, because all the screenshots show those portraits and the awesome icons and stuff...

I have downloaded the entire beta from scratch via Steam the day before yesterday and still have that problem.

Same crashing past the barrel and tried taking the northern path as well. Crash. Cant reach the undead house/lighthouse. There is a difinative line where it will crash if you get near there. tried on multiple save files and on a new game.. same issue.;

EDIT: Tried throwing a pyramid over the crash line.... no go

That is a known issue that a few people have run into.

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool. Someone said yesterday that mailbox was full, so you could use the general support address instead: support@larian.com.

Thank you, I will do that. But has that issue been resolved or is it still on the backlog?

I don't know if it is still on the to-do list, or if it is tied up with something else that is being updated or changed.

While fighting Ahru (Cyseal's court wizard, yeah, he's lvl 15, but still beatable), if you bring him to approximately 1/6 hp, the game crashes. Am i the only one who had that problem?

I have a quest that sends me into a cave, to fight a malfunctioning robot made by the Wizard Arhu.
There is an area before the cave where you have a fight with a large group of skeletons, and zombies.

I have been to the area, killed them all, entered the cave, killed the robot, and got out on the other side of the cave, where you land on the path towards the four statues.

From this side(statue side) I can not re-enter the cave. The cogs/interact icon apears when I mouseover the cave, but it will not let me enter.

The quest never continued for me, it is not finished.

I tried teleporting to the original entrance, but as soon as I cross the bridge leading up to the area where the zombies/skeletons were, the game crashes. This happens every time.
I have restart the game and my computer a couple times to rule that out.
And I have also tried to approach the cave from another road. Which also caused my game to crash.

Hope I have described it clear enough, and hope it helps!
----

Edit:

Also just encountered another Crash Moment.

I have to return a quest in the Black Cove to some ghosts.
When I enter the Black Cove and try to save the game it crashes.
And Also after I completed the quest and go outside it seems to crash whenever I try to save the game.
The quest is named Nick's head or something.

For some reason each time I attempt to venture beyond the northern walls the game crashes on the main path going west. However, this did not occur the first time I ventured to this area, rather, after I had dispatched the skeleton mage, skeleton archer, and their group of undead boars. After I had finished that particular battle, I had to go back to town to get more res scrolls and healing potions.

I decided to complete the Sailor Quest, and also progressed in the Staff quest to the point of speaking to Captain Conrad. I ventured up and down the coast, looting the dead corpses on the beach looking for the theif who I was told would be finding a ship to disembark somewhere on the beach.

I decided thereafter to navigate back to the northern section of the map beyond the city walls, which is when the game started crashing every time I hit the main path north of the walls going west. I cannot now travel west using the northern paths beyond the city walls.

A couple of things that are happening to me, and other observations.

First thing I would like to put up for discussion. Can we get some kind of highlight on things that the PCs notice with their perception skill. For example when I go into the harbor warehouse as I head to the area with the charmed orc, my PC says "Look what I have found", I have looked up and down, left and right, zoomed and un-zoomed (is that a word?), I cannot find anything new to have had the message popup. Maybe this particular instance is a bug but I have noticed the same thing when walking the wilderness, it seems to me that if the PC skill is what made the object or digging area pop in the first place then it should be immediately recognizable, not another hunt and peck to find.

On a side note in the Gravedigger's hut, part of the PC banter includes a statement "an ominous hatch" does anybody know what this refers to? I swear I searched for a "travel" hatch for 30 minutes, and found nothing.

As others have posted an auto-sort for the inventory would be awesome, while I like the tabs after a couple of hours of play even those are a mess and manually sorting inventory is really just tedious.

Some investigation into these random "crash-zones" would be much appreciated. I have seen many reports on differing ones. For example, the one happening currently to me is as follows:

THe path to the right of the church, the only one walkable to the church, crashes for me consistently. Specifically if you consider the church a cross shape, As soon as a PC crosses past the "long" part the game crashes to desktop. Everytime. If I head south from the grave area next to the ghosts, when I get to the stairs game crashes. I managed to bypass the area by using phoenix dive to cross the rock slide at the front of the church. I went and fought the enemies. As soon as I move into the right cross section the game crashes. As this is necessary to progress this prevents any foward movement on this quest. I also cannot move into the western area to the Lighthouse. It should be noted that I have already been to the Lighthouse and only returning to finish a "Ghost" quest, but as soon as I move past the barricades of the west gate, crash to desktop. This does not make a whole lot of sense to me, as I would understand a scripted event that was somehow damaged to cause a crash in these areas, but as far as I can tell there are none, as such it seems to be just normal landscape and I dont see any logical reason for the crash-zones.

Also I would really like to hear some voices, while I can understand the main PC not having voice because they are customizable, having some main NPC having voice would be nice, and maybe some ambient voices like in the market place, Cyseal as whole seems way to quiet

First of all, loving this game. I just picked it up yesterday and already clocked about 8 hours playing.

Everything was running fine until around 7 hours into playing (not sure whether there is a bug corrupting save game files).

My issue is the game keeps crashing to desktop - there isn't really any pattern to the crashes it just happens when I am walking somewhere with my character. It now happens every time i start the game, around 15 to 20 minutes into playing.

Also there was an issue where my main character couldn't talk with any other NPC and animals but my secondary characters could talk. This resolved after I restarted the game.

Both these issues seemed to happen after my main character locked in jail for stealing.

Final bug I encountered was when my main character was in jail - when I went down the steps into the jail (jail in the main town, forget its name) he appeared outside the jail, alongside my party. To which the guards started attacking us to prevent a jailbreak. AT this moment an NPC, who was not there previous, spawned in one of the cells and joined in the fight.

The constant crashes are the main issue here, is this a known issue that the team are working on?

SDP80 - was the game you're trying to load/continue saved inside a house or cave? I think someone mentioned that trying to load games saved there can crash. I've also experienced a pattern of crashes when passing a certain point on the overworld map, or heading in a certain direction on the overworld map.

No, I saved when standing in the market place and then it crashes at various places. Last night when it crashed it was just after I walked out of the town by the western entrance which has no gate (on route to the lighthouse).

Prior to that it crashed when I was wandering around town about to go into the mayors office.

I was just wondering if Larian has identified this issue and working to resolve? Any other bug Ive encountered isn't game breaking.

Having to play for 20 minutes then be forced to restart the game is frustrating to say the least - understandable though as its only just turned beta.

Really looking forward to the finished product.

I failed to upload my bug report so I will do it here.

Whenever I try to load any savegame to an area where there is a poison cloud on the ground my game will crash. Whenever I try to walk/teleport to an area that has a poison cloud on the ground I will crash (same for my brother on his pc).

Its really annoying since it seems those clouds do not go away, I fought the elemental guardians but cannot enter the cave behind them because there is this crashing bug.

To the posters above you, your crashes might be related to elemental ground effects crashing your games like mine (Fire seems fine but poison clouds will 100% crash the game whenever I load/teleport or even walk into that area.)

Strangely when I create or a monster creates a cloud I can fight fine and there is no problem, but as soon as I leave the area with the cloud still there and come back it crashes (same with saving and then reloading)

I will try again tonight and see if there is a pattern to the crashes and will post back here.

On another thread it mentions deleting the Cyseal.lsb file to fix some crashes, is this advisable?

So I went to an area where I previously crashed and it crashed to desktop again, in the same area. This was west of the market in the area with the level 3/4 mobs on route to the lighthouse.

The area where I crashed has poison on the ground - I am not sure how important this is but it ties in with what has been said by Eldiora regarding elemental ground effects crashing the game. Also this is an area that I have cleared of the mobs.

EDIT: I deleted the file "cyseal.lsb" as described in this thread which worked and allowed me to move freely passed the areas in the game where I would have crashed before. The only downside to this is the mobs have reappeared and the areas in my map are hidden again.

The poison is a nice theory; it does crash around the graveyard with a poison area, and the dead dog near the escort mission with a poison area.
However, the dead dogs near the lighthouse have the exact same poison area on the ground, and it doesn't crash there.
Maybe we need to look at some other spell or enemy the graveyard and that specific section (and other crash sites?) have in common?

Had this issue today, I have to go back around 5 saves to find a working save and play from there again.

Is there anyone feels that some models of mage's staves are unproportionally big? It makes them look ugly. Some of them don't fit into caster's hands, regardless of gender.

I've only recently started having a bug that happens whenever I head towards the Cyseal GY where Jakes body is buried, I could reach it yesterday and it doesn't matter which direction I try and reach it from the game just crashes to desktop.

Other than that and a small multiplayer bug that swaps the trade inventories if both players are trading at the same time.

Loving the game and I would be enjoying it right now if not for the graveyard crash smile
