What kind of game is Silver? Seems to have made a good impression on those who have played it. Anyone here play Suidoken III? I didnt like this game much at first but it grew on me... many things to do and 70 or so characters to develop and add to your party... I have heard Suidoken 1 and 2 were better but I never played either so I dont know what I'm missing. I've been having a hard time maintaining interest in alot of newer games lately... xenosaga and .hack both seemed disappointing to me and i cant bring myself to dump any more money on halfway decent games anyone else starving for a really quality rpg?

I LOVED Suidoken III! I also didn't like it at first, then it just grew on me and I would play it all day! heh

Fallout 1 and 2 I think are a MUST for serious RPG'ers. Along with Planescape:Torment.

Baldurs gate 2 and the expansion were also pretty cool.

IWD II was definatly Hack and Slash, but a hell of alot better then Diablo 2 (In my opinion)

Yeah I bought Planescape: Torment a while ago used but one of the discs was corrupted and I never got around to getting a new copy.

I finished the game by using only 2 spells. The demon spawn spell (can't remember the name) and fireball/fireflash/whatevername... With high cons and wisdom, the demon made the game too easy. Killed the final boss with only 3 demons while i sat back and watched the show.

Heh, oddly enough I NEVER chose to be a mage character in Arcanum. I never felt like I was missing much on the magic side. I always either chose to be melee/thief or gun-user/techie, those just seemed the most fun paths for me. Besides, the idea of building equipment, getting schematics, and ingredients, was just alot more interesting (and with thief skills, quite easy to do too), than getting such a sparse list of spells and too many schools of magic to bother with.

Although I will say Arcanum can be a little easy at times.

It's been awhile since I played it, I still have it installed, maybe I'll start a new game sometime and try the mage's path this time around.

This is just a quick thankyou to KathyTheKrazyKat. I managed to get my hands on a copy of Summoner a couple of days ago and I have to say that it's great, I'm really enjoying it. Thanks so much for recommending this game to me

Cheers

ok that sacred game is officially on my list of games to buy. the screenshots though, why are some seem like low resolution with large characters and some seem to be huge resolution with smaller characters? just curious why that is.

almost forgot. DD2 is definitly there with diablo3(for the multiplayer)

Summoner is a brill game and probably my fav along with DD. It deosn't cost much (£10.00) and is definatly worth the money, if u want 2 no more about it ask me.

Have u tried multiplayer? try it and tell me you're name and we could meet and play a game or something, my name for multiplayer is Kathryn.

well...so long and thanks for all the info

about sacred:
dont you guys think the caracters have only a few moves?
i mean; in diablo 2 every class had about 32, and here only about 10...

And will sacred have bnet style multiplayer? (i believe i read that somewhere..)

It does look like a very cool game though

not forget, your char can learn many special moves, not listed on the site. imho,i think it's enough.

you can expect a bnet look alike mp-style (but the last word's about this are not spoken yet).
but you can play with up to 16 friends in a game

I played it about 4 or 5 times.

I played it as a gunfighter dwarv, as world's mightiest time wizard, as someone jabbering anybody to death, ... and eachtime it was a rather different gameplay. Nearly each quest can be solved in different ways. Any more questions ... ?

Apart from Divine Divinity 2, what game are you going to buy next?
For me personally, I'd just about sell my soul for Diablo 3. I'm in love with both Divine Divinity and Diablo equally and I can't choose between them. If they were both released at the same time I'd probably blow my budget outta the water, because I'd just HAVE to have them both. But Gawd only knows if we'll ever get them, so until then, I'm waiting for Lionheart myself. I've been reading the previews and it sounds really good. But then, so did the previews for NeverWinter Nights and Dungeon Seige and these are two games that bitterly dissapointed me. Maybe I'll wait a bit when the game comes out and see what all you people here think of it. I figure if YOU like it, then I will too.

Cheers

Oh man! I'd just about sell my soul for Diablo 3 too. My room mate and I played D2 on our home lan for aproximately 500 hours. Back and forth, this character, that character. Absolutely loved it which is strange because when he first brought me a copy for xmas, I hated it. The first time I loaded it up, I couldnt figure out what it was exactly that I was supposed to be doing (didnt have as much patience as I have now with computer games), then once I got out into the killing fields, I was hooked. We would play long into the night sometimes till 3am, even though we both had to be up at 5am to go to work.

As far as what Im going to buy next? Well, I guess I'll have to wait and hope they do put out a D3 (as long as it's not 3D, Im rather partial to the 2d isometric look), I've got NWN and Dungeon Siege (I finished DS, and I dont want to give any spoilers, but I was highly disappointed in the finish of it. I didnt think I was anywhere near finishing, then it was done). NWN, well, Overall I like it, but im not one really for questing in puzzle fashion. I much prefer the quests of D2 where it's pretty linear.

Right now, Im playing Tropico 2, 1503 AD, and I just reinstalled since there is a patch, and I never made it all the way through. First game I gave up at the castle, 2nd game I gave up when I couldnt complete a couple quests. 3rd game I gave up because there were too many unsolved quests in my log.

Im going to try it again and try to limit the amount of quests I get at anyone time. I much prefer solving one thing at a time. Georges Murder comes to mind, hated having that stick around after I left the first town.

Dont get me wrong though, I love though I have to wonder what exactly I love about it. Probably that I feel something for my character (hard to do in a game for me) and the 2d isometric 3/4 view.

My next game will be the PC version of Vice City. Full of sociopathic goodness

Sacred sounds interesting. Outcast 2 and Gothic 2 are also in the pipeline and look great.

Outcast has to be one of the most under appreciated games ever

I'm waiting for Thief 3 I loved Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age...

Might also buy Deus Ex 2 when it appears, and will probably buy the NWN expansion. (though I don't really like their take on D&D - it's so far from how I play pnp D&D!)

I believe i'll have to buy a decent graphics card though, if I want to play any of the 3D games I mentioned no more geForce MX
