Considering GoG is DRM free - Why does it take longer for them to patch the game than it does for steam. It should be much easier and faster for them.

Had I been aware of this issue I would have redeemed my copy from steam. but I guess it is really just a short term issue and I will survive my decision.

But I am very curious.

Thanks.

Both GOG and Steam have their own packagers for updates. GOG staff do the packaging and testing of updates on their service and given the stories of buggy patching on Steam, I'd suspect that packaging and testing there may be left up to the developers alone.

If so, then GOG patches are held up due to extra checking and testing, which for many should be a good thing.
