Hello,
Is there any chance you could include at least one additional difficulty setting? - something akin to very hard/nightmare.
We're playing on hard and the game is just not that hard anymore - there are hardly any encounters that we have to restart.

It used to be quite challenging until we picked up lone wolf (we played without any companions regardless), but it's quite easy now (especially as I've picked glass cannon on the mage).

The main issue I have with the game now is that due to the lack of challenges present we aren't doing it in the 'right' order, so we often get to low level zones that we skipped by accident.

Alternatively we could've not picked lone wolf up, but it's too late now.

Yeah, an additional difficulty option won't be bad.

If you want, it's pretty easy to mod it yourself. But I'm not sure what would be the proper way to increase the difficulty nicely without making the game just ridiculous... and that's the problem for everyone I think.

I think the difficulty setting should work like this:

Easy:
HP of the player characters 125%
HP of the enemies 75%
Cooldown of enemy skills +2 turns

Normal:
HP of the player characters 100%
HP of the enemies 100%
Cooldown of enemy skills +0 turns

Hard:
HP of the player characters 75%
HP of the enemies 125%
Cooldown of enemy skills -2 turns

The game seriously needs a harder difficulty setting. The game is way too easy on hard.

I think that difficulty setting shouldn't affect cooldowns (unless that's due to enemies having higher base stats). What I would like to see is enemy damage increase, and particularly enemies having higher bb/wp. Also, a rogue skill similar to drain willpower, but for bodybuilding.

I just saw a new MOD released. I have not tried it but might what you need:

General Easy-Med-Hard difficulties are perhaps one of the easiest things to mod in the game. There are setting for all 3. Aprox 75 settings for players and NPC's for each difficulty level. You could so something very close and perhaps feather in a few more tweaks.

You unpak Main
Open characters.xslm in excel
From there it is pretty straight forward, save.
Then open All.xslm, click the Generate button.
It creates and updated characters.txt file you place in a mod folder (will supply details if one is interested in actually do this)
Play game with new settings.

Nightmare Mode: have the PCs repeating the random babble in Cyseal everytime they use an ability.

Example:

Roderick uses Charm: "Nobody has as many friends as a man with many cheeses!"

Try playing that for hours on end.

Just changing some stats is not the proper actually harder mod.
Its just simple fixes and cheats.

I mean, im not against such modes and additions, let people use them and play whatever they want but a real, proper hard mode should do more then that.

just sayin...

I wouldn't change cooldowns myself, as it might create an imbalance between lone wolf/no lone wolf setting: as it's easier to keep lone wolf characters under CC.
That said, I would definitely increase enemy HP and dmg output by at least 50% on a very-hard and 100% on a nightmare setting (in comparison to the current 'hard' setting). Maybe gaining drastically less money and/or experience would make sense too?

I also wouldn't make any changes to the current difficulty settings, but rather just add new ones.

I like your thinking.
