Why is beer here in the States so much weaker, or so I have heard, than European brands?

I could have been very happy not knowing that. "Game over, man! Game over!"

That's an easy one Luna.
Here it's a tradition, a culture even. Chefs write cooking books about dishes based on beer, there are official beer tasters, conventions about beer, ...
And, in the USA beer is mostly a mass produkt. Here you have numerous little breweries. Who all did their own thing in the past. And a lot still do today. They experimented, used "raw materials" they found in their region, most didn't cared about selling much but wanted to make something differend (what doesn't exist anymore these days),...
The tradition is much older than in the USA.

because we're a bunch of pansies and it sounds more masculine to say "i can drink an entire case without even catching a buzz!" which is pretty possible when referring to beers like Buttwesier.

americans pride themselves on how many beers than can drink which is easier to do if it's weak sissy watered down junk.

europeans would rather have a one strong drink than several weak ones.

can't say as i blame them.

LoL
I wouldn't go that far.

But it's true that often ppl "go out" to enjoy one or a few of those "stronger" beers, taking it easy, while having a conversation about this & that.
At some places some of those beers get served with salted nuts or cheese. Also, all brands have their own glasses...
It's a culture...

-There are others who go out to drink lots and lots of pils too.

not that we have no bad beer over here... bockor, primus

but some of us drink beer cus they like how it tastes, others drink beer to get drunk those poeple don't drink those stronger beers, but a lot of the biggest brands, "jupiler" "maes" "stella"

I prefer beers as "hoeghaarden, duvel, leffe"
