Well, I haven't seen any other posts on this subject so I thought I'd ask. For those who don't know I'm a chemist. Pay is pretty cool.

So Womble, that is where the chemist thing comes from. What sort of work do you do as a chemist? That's a very broad area.
Faile, I too at one time 'slung lattes' while going to school. Of course, that was back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth.

[color:"red"] Faile, [/color] go for the biology side of things if you fancy a reasonable job. Just a small piece of advice.

Already said this in another thread, but I'm a primary standards metrologist. I work RF and microwave. But there's very little in metrology that I can't do. (Though there's quite a bit that I would prefer not to...)
So Spick, what exactly does a shift leader do? Yell at people?

Sounds like you know what you want to do with your life Faile. I myself am a simple person craving a job that puts food on the table and beer in my belly.
A solid background in Biology will still help more IMO, even for understanding eco-stuff.

I am a genealogist. I spend countless hours researching and researching. It is interesting if nothing else.
I could have been very happy not knowing that.

Hi everyone,
It amazes me that most people here are adults! with jobs and all.
That's great because it fills me with hope. I'm still going to school (the 12th and last year - in the U.S. School system that would be college right?) Anyway it fills me with hope cause I figured that I will grow out of playing RPGs but if nothing goes wrong I will still be "here" in 20 years

Zeus!!
There is no last year. Heck, I've had the regular 13 years (kindergarten through high school). I followed that with 5 years at the university, and then two more years at a tech school. And I still take classes...just for the joy of learning. In fact, in the last couple of years I've taken a class in Milton, three HTML classes and some VB just for fun. Nothing to do with my work. (Well, I do use VB at work...but I didn't have to!!!)
But you're right about this...you can be old and grey and still playing on your computer. If I didn't color my hair, I would be!!!
