Hi all,

Youll soon notice that the long awaited patch for Divine Divinity is finally being put online. As the many delays illustrate, its been hell to get this patch to you and it would certainly have taken much longer if it wouldnt have been for help of Achim_S, Barnabus, Hellfighter, Kiya, Nemisis Dragon,Raze and Sir Toejam, all members on our forum. Theyve done an excellent job in beta-testing the patch and giving us feedback. Special credits also go to Lynn and Fredric who worked very long hours in putting this patch together. It's no secret that we've had a lot of problems in creating the patch and if it wouldn't have been for the people I just mentioned, I don't know how we would've done it.

Now that the patch is out of the door and I can show my face again, I can perhaps also drop the following piece of info: Weve been flirting with the announcement of our next title for a couple of months now and were finally approaching the stage where we can go public with it. As usual I cant give you an exact date except that the official announcement will be prior to E3 (which starts May 14th). And what I can also tell you is that nobody is going to mess with the name - Expect more on RR.R soon

Woohoo it's here.

"Fixed bug with passive skills like ranger sight & magic barrier that were acquired through a bonus on a weapon and which would cause constant increments of the stats when loading" Are the weapon expertise skills that were bugged still bugged?

Maybe I could've helped, too, but now it's done.

Well, CDV has announced a new free game today. It's called "Rosso Rabbit". The 3rd "R" may have been an intentional lead in the wrong direction .

HOP UNTIL YOU DROP

CDV releases Rosso Rabbit free to download from the web

You may have eaten all your Easter Eggs by now but surely you have room for Rosso Rabbit, CDV's spring break present for PC gamers. Following up the massive success of Santa Claus In Trouble, which notched up over three million downloads worldwide when it was released last Christmas, CDV is making Rosso Rabbit available free for download in time for the spring holiday season.

Rosso Rabbit is a clever platform game in which you must steer our hopping hero through forests, meadows, mountains and ice, in search of carrots, beetroot, and exasperatingly well-hidden lettuces.

The downloadable version comprises a full and challenging level of Rosso Rabbit and you can register your high scores on-site to compare with other players worldwide. However, if you enjoy the game and want to play more, you can easily upgrade to the 18-level premium version for just 9.99 (6.95), which promises plenty of fiendish traps, dangerous enemies, several surprises and hidden bonus areas.

"Rosso Rabbit is a lot of fun, but it's also quite a sophisticated game and very addictive," says Terry Malham, CDV's UK president. "Our Santa game at Christmas was so successful that we just couldn't resist the temptation to do it again."

To download and try out Rosso Rabbit for yourself, just go to http://www.cdvspiel.de/ostern/english/index1.htm and follow the prompts to download the game.

True. Don't underestimate game-testing. It involves a lot. It's not really about playing a game, but more about trying out different things over and over again, actually go looking for the bugs. This asks for patience and time. And for a game like which is so huge and full of detail, it's not a piece of cake

If you wanna continue regarding testing, please do so in another thread.
Thx.

Yes, it is definitively faster now.

Only one quirk : The animations of the teleporting portals and stones are no more fully played - they seem to be scrammpbled a bit ... (difficult to describe ..)

I played the game in an early version and encountered all kinds of bugs, crashes etc.
But I must admit that I enjoyed the game very much. is great.
I hope Larian guys started to work on expansion already. How unsatisfied I am...

I get errors when I start up but that happened before the patch too. I often have to start it a couple times in a row before it actaully runs. The config program then runs and tells me no directdraw device detected (I have a GF4, latest direct X and Win98 SE) and I select Direct 3D option. Often this config crashes and I have to kill the task and re-run it until it works.
The other problem I have is sometimes using the repair skill boots me to desktop as soon as I click the item I am trying to repair.

Guess this is in the wrong forum, but talk of glitches got me thinking.
I guess Im wondering if anyone else has heard of these problems?

I have not heard of the first error, but some people who have run into problems with Repair have found repairing items in their inventory or on the ground is more reliable.

Hmmm..only 2 real problems I've had with it was,it booted me off for no reason in the middle of the game,& every now & then, the monsters names would be covered by a flash of my inventory screen. Aside from that, good job,I just beat the game too,soo can't wait till a add-on,or sequel.

Personally, I think, booting in the middle of the night ... err ... game means : lack of memory (RAM, HD, Swapfile) ...

Well in my case the patch KILLED the game. The actuall problem is covered elsewhere. Now I have the choise of waiting for a second patch whitch just migth cause further problem for me, or start allover in Aloreth with just the hotfix. In Arcanum or Baldursgate I would have done this anyway ,just test new things, but DD , eventhough its very good has no ReplayValue!
I have cleared all Rivellon and Verdistris, taken a good piece of Dark Forest as well. If I restart all this will be "yesterdays dinner" something boring to just push thru.
Ok I can find new ways to kill monsters and avoid a few misstakes but I forsee no new Choices! No suprise!

Lar this EnglishPatch really messed this game for me.

I didn't experience any serious crashes/problems with DD, so i didn't feel the new patch, but what i expected, was a skill balance... which didn't come - scorpions are still mass-destruction weapons, ranger sight still gives much less than elven and only has meaning if you need LOTs of sight (to have something more than elven gives you); people reporting that true shot is still worthless and so on...
yep, crashes are always no.1 priority, but i think some balance wouldn't hurt...
i wanted to start a new thief character and use nice thief-trees' sight, use balanced scorpions... oh well *looks and feels disappointed*
