Hello...

I was just entering the forest and leaving the town after killing Braccus (i.e. really getting into this awesome game!), and i got a new computer for Christmas that just arrived on New Year's eve. The new computer is a 64 bit PC with all the goodies, including a 970 nvdia graphic card. Loaded up all the new computer stuff, everything i know is loaded correctly, but when i re-loaded Divine Divinity: Original Sin (from GOG download files, along with the patch), i get the following error message:

The program can't start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

OK...so, i uninstalled, and reinstalled. SAME exact message. I have no idea what to do next. I am running Windows 7 64 bit (was running Windows 7 32 bit before on the old computer). I have the latest drivers loaded from Nvidia for the geforce 970. ANY IDEAS???

Thanks and Happy New Years!

The XINPUT1_3.dll file is part of DirectX. Try re-installing DirectX 9c from the '..\Divinity - Original Sin\__redist\DirectX' install folder and reboot.

DirectX 9 is not included by default in Win 7 or 8, and DirectX 11 is not backwards compatible, so both need to be installed.

I faced with this error too and solved it in similar way. I found this file (XINPUT1_3.dll) here http://fix4dll.com/xinput1_3_dll and move it to my windows/system32 folder. After this Divinity works fine.
