It used to be ( http://larian.com/kickstarter-divinity-original-sin-2-paypal/ ), the link is dead, though.

Dont know whether Larian will reactivate it.

PS: Only digital via PP

Last I heard, PayPal pledging is over.

So yes, you're too late.

Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

There won't be any physical copy of the game for DOS2.

I think your next chance to get the game would probably be Steam Early Access, in about a year (if GOG supports alphas/betas by then, they may also have a similar program). For the physical rewards (like the lore book, etc), they are currently just planned for Kickstarter backers, but maybe closer to release making them available in some other way could potentially be considered.

As Swen told somewhere (I don't remember where) physical DVD is a big hassle that he doesn't want to go through anymore it seems.
As you can see on a any pledge on KS that has the game it's always written digital.

i dont get why people insist on a physcial "thing" (dvd or stuff) in times of (fast) internet?

i know, some people do not have a fast connection, but since patches are applied exclusively via internet nowadays, these people have an issue anyway - so i dont fully consider this argument viable.

all other: whats the difference? apart from: download is more convenient. i DO understand that printed, shiny things like a book/manual do have some charm (digital version could be printed out by yourself, though) but whether you get a piece of software on a dvd or via internet really is not big difference, is it?
if there really is, i do not get it.

Because for some games I do quite enjoy the shiny box.
For example I have the collector edition for Heroes5, that is happily showing off on my shelve.

OK, thats the box. The collectors stuff i do understand. But why insist on a physical storage medium (ie DVD)?

I guess it's more because of habit.
I could do without the DVD myself.

I'm interested too, because it would be a combo breaker for me, I have almost all the retail editions of past Larian games (no vanilla Divinity 2 tho). The Anthology is particularly magnificent, the book is really cool with all the developer insight about starting up the franchise.

I've already inquired about a possible non-backer boxed goodies release, so I'm hoping for the best.

It's part of being a collector. Some people insist on having a DVD because it looks good on the bookshelf. And at the rate with which the digital download is gaining popularity in the PC platform, they are on to something.

Unfortunately no; the Kickstarter is over and Paypal shut down.
