My wife's laptop has a 960m, with an i6700hq processor. The game runs very smoothly at max graphics, flawlessly.

My desktop has a GTX 970, and an overclocked i56600k, but the fps is very jumpy at max graphics. Never smooth like it should be.

Why is the more powerful hardware having lower fps?

Different resolutions? Latest drivers etc.? It is an alpha so it is not optimized. I have two Gtx970 amp extreme and play on 4k having maxed out every setting and getting 40fps or more constantly. Although I think SLI is not supportet right now.
