of the catacomb? Aleroth.
You activate it by lighting on the candle infront of a "stoned" lady. It will follow you where ever you go... helping you to kill, but won't share any exp with you.
I have a problem, it dies as soon as you go to the surface.. anyway to overcome it?

You may want to keep him to kill boss-like monsters in lower levels of Catacombs. They are not easy.

Better yet, you might want to kill it youself and gain 15 000 exp!!! Use poison cloud, it was the only thing I could kill him with, because you can't target him(it spreads wide, just aim somewhere near him). At that time in the game it means a lot of exp, it would be a shame to miss. If you kill him by going to surface and bring him peace at last you get NOTHING!!!

How excactly can you fire the candle? With what object? Just move the cursor over it and when "Candle" pops up, left click on it. Hey presto, let there be light. And a funny undead dude following you about. My one problem with him was that once I'd got him, I didn't want to go back to the surface until I'd got all the use I could out of him (i.e. he was dead. Again). So I spent ages trawling around the lower reaches of that place burning potions and snack food in a desperate attempt to avoid Aleroth. Still, he helped me out in a couple of tough fights, so I reckon it was worth it.

If you have the teleporters stones (makes completing the first dungeon alot easier - you should get them both before entering), and place 1 stone next to the bed in the room you begin the game in, and teleport back to this room to rest when required, your pet zombie doesn't die and returns with you when teleporting back.
He dies if you go up the ladder into the healer's house though.

I just let the stupid zombie die, he was of no use, my dude was lvl 14 when i finnally went into aleroth catacombs and those puny skelly's were weak. i do suggest you kill everything in there after killing the revived necro guy because you gain alot more exp instead of just leaving and going through the portal with zandalor.

But he IS of use...if you kill him yourself you get enough exp for more than half a level (if you're about level 5 when entering the catacombs)!
