Due the power outage in Ghent today (affecting a quarter of the city; Kickstarter update), there will be a delay before modding will be made available. It will be updated as soon as possible.

Do you know if this will be delayed by a few days or something longer like weeks/months?

Given that the delay is due to the power outage, I would expect something closer to the former.

Yes, normally it should be online tomorrow.

LOL if the power outage causes a delay in the toolset by weeks or months, then they clearly weren't ready for release.

To be fair, it is entirely possible for power outages to really screw things up for you, under the worst of circumstances.

That said, unlikely, yeah.

Professional game development companies usually make backup copies, physical backup copies, of all their data multiple times every day. Even if the main computer where it was hosted was completely fried beyond repair, they wouldn't lose any progress on their development.

I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't do offsite backups as that's just been a standard thing for decades. The first company I worked for way back did daily backups and sent copies offsite on at least a weekly basis.

Looks like mod tools are out. Located under "Tools" on steam, just the like the original mod toolkit.

You wont be able to do much of anything with it. The majority of the features will either throw an error, or crash the editor.

Make sure you have the editor specific DLC installed:

Hello everyone!

For those who encountered frequent crashes after installation. The tools were available a couple of minutes before the DLC settings that are required to get the data set up correctly. Everything is now up and running as intended.

As Windemere pointed out, you can find a small guide on how to set things up Here.

I double checked "Divinity Engine 2 Data" under the DLC tab of properties and it still says "Not Installed"

You need to update the actual game.
