I actually like this fight because it was one of the few fights that you just couldnt 'brute force'. Well, at least to some extent.

This supposed to be an old school RPG. In them gameplay mechanics were equally important to story. Seeking the best configurations of stats and wacky combos is something that is to be expected from players that will pick up game like this. Also even if DOS 2 is its own game it is a contination of a game that main focuse was not on the story but on the mechanics, so its naturally that I expected mechanics to be at least as good as the first one.

To the "open world", for me DOS2 is not open world in a literal sense because anybody is fixed levels and I wish you luck to kill Mummy Dearest with lvl 10. TES IV Oblivion was open world because anybody scaled to your level and you could clear the game with lvl1 more or less. Which was lamented a lot and for good reasons.

In a classical RPG for me there have to be level barriers or there is no feeling of progression. I don't need a totally open world, I just need a big world. But I'm not a real explorer type of player, I usually follow the story and I'm always surprised that and how people find stuff all over the maps I passed by. hahaha

You all make it sound like the game is a victim of the Xenogears syndrome. Anyone who's played that game knows what I mean lol.
