For anyone else following, there was one thing that confused me for a bit: the flag name has to be StartTrade as this is a keyword for the computer to know you want to bring up the trading screen. I didn’t realise this at first and gave it my own name and of course nothing happened.

Yes "StartTrade" is a flag that the story script catches... and puts you straight into a trade with said speaker.
