Hello fellow modders !

I'm kinda new to this all thing, and I want to create my own adventure using the Divinity Engine Tool.

But I'm facing some sort of a little problem right now. Two to be precise.

I'm trying to create a level which will be played on a boat, in the sea, so far so good, I have my boat, and my sea. But I can't managed to put my dummy on my boat, each time I press "T" to teleport him, he is placed inside the ship, and I want him on the deck.
Second point, my sea is all black like it's in the fog of war, I've generated the AI for all my map, but it's still black.

I think I'm doing something wrong here. Could someone help me for this please ?
I really want to go forward with this tool and be better at it.

Feel free to suggest me a guide/tutorial so I can learn everything I need to.

Varro.

Make sure that the deck you want them to walk on has "walk on" enabled in the sidebar settings (control +b i believe). You can only have one layer, the grid is in 2D so you can never have walkable areas crossing each other vertically. There's a wiki but I'm in my phone so can't really bring it out for you. Should be a quick peek in the guides forum to find it.

Also, place an AI seeder om the deck from root templates, it's a trigger.

Thanks for your answer.

About the AI seeder, will it make my water visible from the boat ? Or is that another issue ?

I'll try and find the guide you're talking about.

Try to set ine AI seeder per walable area that is not "connected" to one area with Ai seeder.
Set water to wadeable.
Which water item are you using? Which atmosphere is applied?

Atmosphere is the general lighting of your level, let's say the weather, the daytime and so on. In GM Mode you can control this by the MOOD panel aswell.

You can define your working atmosphere as shown here:
https://docs.larian.game/Work_atmosphere_panel

If set to OFF it will use the defined atmosphere in the LevelSettings. For working (as long as lighting isn't important) i recommend the second choice and choose e.g. atmosphere "Work" or one that pleases you.

The third option is useful once you set different Atmospheres (by different atmospheretriggers) in your level, to choose from your different atmos.

You can also define your own custom atmosphere: https://docs.larian.game/Atmosphere_panel

Suggestion: Maybe this topic should be moved to GENERAL, to keep the guides subforum clean. Or we shall provide a guide to the problem here once it is solved.

Alright thanks for all those elements, I'm sure this will help me in creating my level, finally.

Should I be the one to move the topic in the General Section ? Or is it done by an admin ?

That move would be done by me smile

I also suggest to take a look at a few of the existing game levels with mighty, seaworthy boats.
You can find a couple in the Origins levels. The Hold (TUT_Tutorial_A) for example has the tutorial boat.

Sincerely,
Kevin
