I have been playing a rogue type character and Ive found out that 3 scorpions have taken out every boss character I have ever run into. Do these things need to be nerfed in the next patch? I would never be able to beat these bosses without these scorpions. I wanted to try and go through with some skill instead of the tanking warrior but all i have to do is unleash these little beats and its game over for everyhting on the map! o and I have only put 1 skill point into deadly gift. Its insane!

It is true. Deadly traps with scorpions is overpowered! at lvl1 they have lvl100.

Yea i always feel like i'm cheating when using them. But i can easily see certain situations where your character simply can't beat a particular boss though. If you go pure thief (with lockpicking and non-offense skills) i can imagine getting very frustrated with your character. I only use it as a backup if i can't beat the mobs normally, the scorpions tend to no go where i want them to go wihch makes moving through a dungeon longer than just killing yourself.

But yes, i think it's too strong as you only need 1 skillpoint, maybe there should've been a limit to how many you can release as well AND how long they stayed in the game. I.E only able to release/control 1 scorpion at skill 1 and it will only last for a few rounds before it "runs away".

Or like a bee, it has limited poison and then dies.

I never use them because they're so completely unbalancing.

There would be no point in playing a game that has no element of challenge IMO.

Well met, Elliot, even tho they are so one-sided, would they not be useful to a thief, or a mage as added "backup" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />

Well met indeed, Jurak <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm not sure about a thief, but a mage certainly doesn't need them at all. All a mage really needs is the Alchemy skill at level one and a steady supply of potions.

After that, it's really a 'none shall stand' scenario.

I generally prefer playing warriors, but my Sorceress went through the game without having any trouble with anything except Josephina the first time. The DOL didn't even manage to cover half the distance to her.

Mages need no assistance <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Even better: Frost Weapons with Life Drain. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> I had one sword with that in my first game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

Frost weapons, Poison Weapon, Scorps, and Polymorph are all overpowered in my opinion. But the bosses are pretty much impossible to kill without using them the first time through the game, before you figure out the weird spell combos and know what skills to take. It's like the bosses are either impossible, or way too easy.

... so I stripped down to nothing but a Super Big Gulp cup and rubberband, and ran up the street screaming "Swing me, gringo!"
