Created new Project, created new basic Area.

All in a white cloud you cant see or do anything.

was this a DOS2 update or a windows update?

I can confirm that this occurs in all the inherited levels as well. Fort Joy's covered in a blue fog.

As a temporary solution, if you move Patch8.pak out of DOS2's Data folder, the blue fog problem will be gone.

Confirmed.
Moving "Patch8.pak" out fixed the problem.
Thanks LL

My assumption. They will fix the issue and re-patch. You will update through Steam.
delete the file you moved out once we have confidence all is good.

Or we need to move the patch8 back in to update...

no idea at this point.

Basically, until a fix is pushed out, when you go to play the actual game with other people, move Patch8.pak back in to the data directory, so everyone will be using the same version.

From what I can tell, Larian rarely (if at all) replaces existing packages in an update, so the next fix should be coming in as something like "Patch8_Hotfix1.pak". At that point, if Patch8.pak wasn't downloaded automatically, you can move it back in or re-download it by verifying your cache.

This is assuming the problem needs to be fixed in another package update, rather than an editor update.

Hi guys,

It seems the game was updated to patch 8 (with new shaders) but the editor was not. Because the editor uses the game's data, it is unable to use those shaders correctly.

We will update the editor as soon as possible.

Hi everyone,

we updated the editor which should solve the aforementioned issues smile
Please do keep in touch if any issues persist, so we can tackle it asap!

Sincerely,
Kevin

Hey Kevin,

I can confirm that everything is now working as intended! Huge thanks to the lovely peeps at Larian who worked on fixing this issue in such a short amount of time.

FYI: If people used LaughingLeader's workaround by removing Patch8 from your data files, you should add it back into your data folder again.

Thanks,
Lewis
