It seems strange that a small flame rune gives 3% crit while a giant flame rune only gives 6% when you consider the cost of making them.

all runes were slightly nerfed in DE.

as for making...since they are easy to craft in almost any amounts(bones are almost infinite, and there are plenty of wine and gold, the only holding factor is stardust) so I usually get max size flame rune in act1 as soon as I get access to pixie dust and an amulet with a socket(Large one ofc, cuz giant is unavailable yet). then when superior dust appears I upgrade all my runes to giant(and start applying frames after that)

as for the types of runes: I think there are only 2 viable options without frames to craft: masterwork(though you need livewood, and it's act2) and flame(easily crafted for each character asap). others in my opinion require frames to be useful.
