I've been having a read through of the Timeline from the DOS Kickstarter to try and piece the general history together.

The feeling I get is the Patriarch from DD and Ego Draconis Are actually the same dragon. Does anyone have any pointers to where this is confirmed or refuted?

Hmm thats a good question. Personally I cant decide whether they are or not since Patriarch the Black cant be (I hope) the only sole living ancient dragon on Rivellon. But as the series go I think they as well could be one dragon.

If not for the History Of Rivellon on the Kickstarter, I could see there being two Patriarchs myself, but it kind of feels like the way that is written there is the implication that they are one and the same.

The idea isn't that far fetched, the Patriarch is an old dragon, very old, so why wouldn't he be the same, when there's like how much, 80 or something years passing from DD to D2 ED (DKS)? I'm sure dragons lived many many many times longer, than that. And since there's no implication, that the Patriarch from DD was killed by any other means, it's safe to assume the one from Ego Draconis is the very same dragon.

This is what I'm thinking. It feels like the official timeline from Larian sounds like it supports this idea too, as it doesn't do anything to differentiate:

1218 AD: "Leaving but grim corpses in his wake - and aided as he was by a dragon; the Patriarch"

1238-1300 AD: "Enraged by the betrayal of the Dragon Knights and the death of the Divine, humanity saw the foundation of the Order of Dragon Slayers, which specialised in the eradication of the Patriarch's chosen few."

I'm hoping to replace that timeline on the wiki with a broader one that covers more than just the core timeline itself, so I want to get it as accurate as possible.

Yes, the Patriarch in D2 was the same black dragon we saw in Divine Divinity. One of few characters from DD which made appearance in the second game.
