I don't know why I didn't liked NWN. I played for a wekk and re-selled on ebay. DD on the other hand have me glued for 2 weeks now.

I would have done that, too.

And then I discovered the wonder of custom content, hakpacks, and user-made mods that are in all ways superior to the official one.

I didnt mind NWN. Then again, I was in a RPG drought at the time. My biggest disappointment was how different it was from the BG games. I miss having a party and the henchmen are nowhere near as good. I didnt mind the storyline but it was fairly predictable. Compared to BG 2 or PS:T its very flat.

nwn is what made me fall in love with rpg's. i only used my computer for the internet before my boyfriend introduced me to it. it never gets old, because there are thousands of good modules available for download.

shadows of undrentide is taking FOREVER to come out, though. they moved the date from the end of march to the end of may, and now to the end of june. who knows how much longer they'll take??

No, "gone gold" is a term for "having sent the gold master disk for final playtesting; expect it on the shelves within weeks".

I bought NWN, played it for several months, but I don't think I'll be buying SoU. Instead I'll probably be replaying BG1 and BG2 this summer, the series that got me into D&D and CRPGs in the first place.

SoU doesn't seem to add that much; I'm not too keen on prestige classes. (I'd rather that they extend the level cap. I'm not a powergamer, but the with the limit at 20, the game is rather limited. Damn you, Bioware, the Epic Level Handbook is out there. Make bloody use of it!) I might buy it if I have nothing else better to do, but it depends on how solid the SoU official campaign is. (Which it doesn't seem to be, as far as I can see.)

Now I'm surprised.
I didn't knew that there is such a game like NWN:SoU. I'm looking forward to see it because NWN is an awesome game and i love to play it.New classes, new monsters. I hope that it'll come to Poland as fast as possible. ( I've bought at the beginning of may as "NEW")

I was very interested in NWN last year. I visited their [Bioware] website often to check up on the progress of the game. But then after a while I just got sick of them pushing back the date. Reading your posts, I'm glad I didn't waste money on the game. all the way!

From what I've heard so far, the SoU's OC is lackluster. Even Gamespot, who nowadays seems to give mindless praises all too often, give SoU a 7.6 - with a line that basically boils down to, "if you liked the original OC, you'll love the SoU one." No thanks.

I've been losing faith in Bioware since Toilet of Bhaal. I'm not buying their products again. Buh-bye!

we bought shadows of undrentide (haven't played it yet) and saw that compared to the original nwn, icewind dale 2 had way more new spells and feats.
also, shadows doesn't have special classes (drow, assimar, deep gnome, etc).
i have a feeling it's going to be a disappointment.
