I'm using the OSX version of BG3 (bought on steam).
BG3 says that i have version 4.1.83.2865 and my friend who bought the game as well but he is using windows has a different version than mine, it is: v4.1.83.2651.

My only guess is that the versions differ because of the OS... In any case, we can't join a lobby together, we get an error saying that we have different versions.

Can confirm same issue and circumstances. I am on windows and my buddy is on mac, we both downloaded the game from steam and the windows version is 4.1.83.2651 while the mac version is 4.1.83.2865. So yeah cannot play multiplayer across OS versions. . .

Even the Hot Fix maintained the difference between versions.
PC now is: v4.1.83.3931
OSX is: v4.1.83.3948

Xargos, doing some research i found this:

“Direct Connect” (yes) is possible between platforms - but all players must be on the same patch number in order for it to work. Note that in the first few weeks of Early Access there may be some minor version discrepancy between platforms as we move to fix and address issues rapidly, and in these cases you won’t be able to play between ‘stores’. Ultimately, you will.

That's on the FAQ section in Larian's web site. I guess we'll have to wait a bit smile
