Last I checked Moon Elves are the most common type of elves in the Forgotten Realms. They also look a lot more unique than the common place, by rpg standards, high elves or wood elves.
So can we get Moon Elves added to the game?

As far as I know, moon elves are just high elves but with distinct looks. At least in 5e. Could be wrong, though, as I'm not an expert on the subject! smile

My guess is, there is more to come... but the current selection is kinda - special - in places. I mean, Seldarine (aka non-Loth sworn) Drow don't even really exist in rules, but we got them over Moon/Grey Elves? Why don't give us Aasimar, Genasi and Shadar-kai or Shadovar while you're at it?

If that's the case they can do something like what they did with the Drow with two different choices. Can even give them different dialogue choices given high elves tend to be pretty stuck up and moon elves are much more chill and friendly.

In 5th edition "high elves" = moon and sun elves both. However this raises an issue with the character designer for high elves. there is a skin tone for high elves called "Moon" (moon 1 moon 2 etc) which basicly addings varying degrees of purple to the skin, if this is supposed to be moon elves it should be BLUE, not purple smile

Edit: oops - was beaten to it! laugh

In 5e Forgotten Realms, Moon and Sun Elves use High elf stats, and Wood and Wild elves use Wood elf stats. If you look at the skin tones when selecting High Elf, they do have a whole variety of shades called "Moon" if you're looking for otherworldly looking skin.

Exactly, but you simply get [ELF] or [DROW] dialogue option for now... so the sub races are mere rule delineations.

Being able to choose between Moon and Sun elves would be nice!
