I forgot, are we getting any sort of crafting?

I, for one, hope not. DOS style crafting in BG3 doesn't fit in at all in my honest opinion. If anything, then crafting scrolls, potions and wands according to the rules as written would be fine.
I hope we don't end up with a crapton of clutter to be combined into nonsensical items. I'm not wearing a pot helmet again, even though it was hilarious in DOS 1. It's just not a D&D thing.

If you look closely, it is prettt obvious that Larian has things planned for crafting.
There are recipes already, also did you notice the forges in the village?

I did not, o most knowledgeable Shadowlord. Haven't found a single recipe either.

If you interact with the forge and other crafting objects a UI pops up where you can combine components. There is also a quest to get materials from the underdark needed to craft masterwork weapons.

And isn't there an icon for it on the UI? It looks like a hammer but you can't click on it yet.

I read that there was going to be some very limited crafting and that it wouldn't be a core part of the game mechanics, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
I don't want to fall to bits 'cos of excess existential thought.

One of the quests in the game is already to forge a masterwork weapon. I feel pretty confident that the rewarded weapon from completing that quest is just a place holder until the game launches fully because it gives you properties that are not listed on the weapon once completed.

I was able to craft a potion using the big caldron in the Druid's Grove cave. The combo used a Mugwort Bundle and the caldron and produced an Elixir of Silvanus (tonic to cure poisons).

Figure it out from the Flora book, or did you just rando combine?
Also, why do all the screenshots I see not have bags / backpacks. Everyone in my party had one before the Grove, just to keep everything organized.

I was just random combining, didn't think any would work because I had seen somewhere that crafting might not be implemented yet. That potion cured my character after the druid healer lady poisoned me. Ha, yeah, I have lots of backpacks for organization, I was just on a stealing spree in the grove when I made the screenshot.

The Flora book lists the recipe, when I first read it I couldn't figure out where I would find "Boiling Thera" or w/ever it was, as I didn't have any items like that in my "Crafting?" bag : ) Didn't clue into the cauldrons name / contents until I finished looting the back room, and messing with the 3 runes. Triggering them in certain orders did things (nothing useful), but very much still felt like "piece missing" at that point.
