I love exploring the world but I hate busy-work! So my suggestion is, only make containers that have somethhing inside open. The rest, the hundred of empty boxes, crates, barrels etc should be movable but not open, not locked just obviously empty so that we don't need to click on them all.

Thanks

I agree opening empty containers sucks, but I like that I can... don't ask me why.

My suggestion:
When holding Alt down you only see containers that has loot in it?
Now some containers show up on pressing Alt, but other containers that have loot in it don't.

90% of the containers should just be made static window dressing, and then Alt can show us those few which actually contain stuff which is deliberately placed with content that serves a story telling purpose.

Having any or most empty containers as non-clickable window dressing sounds like a good option, as removing all the crates/barrels etc could make the areas look too empty. I find ALT inconsistent in what it highlights, some things it does and some it doesn't. Not sure if that is by design.
