Please set a minimal cooldown of 5 mins or so for npcs repeating the same dialogs over and over. I can't stand be trading with an NPC and hearing the same dialog about 50 times, this drove me to kill a lot of npcs in DOS2 and will probably drive me to kill most of them in bg3 too.
I understand it is supossed to give an impression on npcs interacting with each other and giving life to the world. But it's more immersion breaking and tedious than any other feature in the game. I'd rather miss the interaction if i didn't pay attention than hearing it repeat over and over until I say "I HAD ENOUGH, I'M GOIN TO KILL THIS F NPC"

Think we found our CE player
What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?

"There's bodies in the streets. This place isn't free, not anymore!" x 8,000 One of the last main towns in Divinity OS2 had the most overwhelmingly annoying NPC dialogs, and yes- they repeat on 20-30 second intervals.
Coming from someone that knows nearly nothing about dev and coding- it really shouldn't be too hard to set some kind of counter to limit the frequency that it happens. Absolutely agreed, it's too much. Give them longer duration between spoken lines and ideally 2-3 lines to repeat. While that means more voiceline work, I would be content with simply hearing less of them or only hearing those lines upon arrival to the area.
Yes, I could spend less time at the vendor. Yes, I could turn down voice dialog audio levels. Yes, I could etc etc etc. Bottom line is: anything that forces you to adapt to the game out of annoyance is a poor design choice.
Look at all these chickens

I'm glad they repeat so I don't miss what they say, but yeah they could extend the timer a bit.
Also sometimes banter like that wont start til youre close but once you get close it triggers a cutscene so it's almost impossible to catch
Tuuch! Tuuch! Tuuch!

now that I have your blood pumping. Where were you at when they spam shouted same stuff? One of the most annoying ones is when you just enter druid's grove and you're trading with the halfling. The tieflings in the back won't shut up about leaving or staying.

Ahhh, yeah I know that one, why I tend to go to them first. Don't care about their squabbling, okay sometimes I do. I think though it's an entire scene playing out, instead of like my previous post. Which ruined an entire game for me.

Yeah, I haven't came across any terrible yet. But I fear I will once we are able to get to baldur's gate, or any big city/town with many npcs. Druid's grove stops being annoying once you take care of the main quest, since tieflings seem to leave no matter what

Yeah the city itself could be a nightmare in this regard...
Hopefully they dial back the timer quite a bit.

My current favorite is Halsin standing in the corner of my camp by himself yelling about the ritual of thorns to a rock. I guess he is a druid...
