Members of the fellowship of the Ring :

1. Gandalf
2. Aragorn
3. Legolas
4. Gimli
5. Boromir
6.1 Frodo (*)
6.2 Sam
6.3 Merry

*Since Hobbits are a quarter of a man, so 4 Hobbits = 1 man.

Party of 4 is heresy to fantasy genre. Fix it!

Yeah Ok I get the throwdown but...

April O'niel?

Jenine?

Maybe Noo Noo?

Kirby says Doctor Doom has an angle. Sephiroth's got an arch?

Steve and Marcy pairing, (obviously Steve gets chunked to make room in the party for Jefferson)

I don't know, Ms Pacman herself? All the apples

Queen Gedren switches sides? (Sandahl Bergman in anything! I do want to live forever lol)

Wendy?

Amy Amanda Allen says you forgot Triple A?

I mean using the imagination, this is supposed to be epic quest level campaign. Bring along Casey Jones or make a temporary truce with the Rat King, cause shit is getting dicey! hehe there's room for more than 4

ps. also how'd you get the images to imbed? I still haven't figured that out here

I believe you wanted to say 13,5 ? :P

This rule will certainly proove dificiult to keep without any Halfling in party. :-/
But i gues my Barbarian will find some solution. smile

Of course, a third of the way through the campaign, the party sizes were 2 (Frodo and Sam), and 5 (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry, and Pippin). That makes an average party size of of 3.5, which can usefully be rounded up to 4....

Ooooh, I want Dipsy in my party! Maybe as a Familiar?

In most D&D tournaments there were more than four players, often around 7-9, and around half of them were fighters. But Dipsy might have some special powers we don't know about yet.

6 is a baaad number, has to be 7.
5 could be better still.

And also explain why, to those upset companions, that we can't pick them: because game rules. I feel bad every time I return to camp, and have to.

Nah man, nerd culture is now pop-culture. At the gym I went to in the before time of the long-long ago I once saw one of the regulars working out in a D20 shirt and I’ve seen another guy benching 250 lbs. while sporting an 8-pointed Mark of Chaos tattoo. You are going to need to go somewhere where nobody can see your shame. Like a library or something.

Don't know what the Medieval Fantasy equivalent of the Mess Webley is. Pretty difficult to blow your own brains out with a sling.

Possibly we need a Mess hand-crossbow for this sort of occasion.

That made me chuckle. Nerds shaming libraries. lol Where is this place that we learn from books?! You mean we can't just Google them to my phone! For shame!!! Libraries are for creeps!!! *Hisses and puts up crucifix at people that read from books!* Back evil minions of C'thulu!!! Back I say!

They started off as party 9.

Tolkein found 9 too unwieldy so he , spoiler alert, killed
Boromir and Gandalf (sort of)
, and separated the rest into a group of 2 and 5.

2 was too small so he added Gollum to make a party of 3.

5 was too big so he separated Mary and Pippen into their own party, making a party of 2 and a party of 3.

Seems the master of the fantasy genre, J. R. R. Tolkein, learned the very important lesson that parties greater than 4 are just too big and slow down combat too much.
