As long as there is network mulitplayer game's added. I shall be happy. That way I can walk up to my friend and slap him to death. Then dance on his corpse and, run off into the sunset.

Well, if the focus is still singleplayer then it might not work, but since there's a party system of sorts in , a network multiplayer game wouldn't be so horrible. At least, when one dies, the other one dies, too (as indicated by soul-binding), so you can't just drag your friend's corpse around with you...

Although I'm not a fan of multiplayer, it could work in this one. If one player each played one of the characters, the two of you could co-operatively play through the game. Because they're soul-linked, you have to protect your partner, or you die. It would save having to control two people at once, but you'd have the new challange of trying to work as a team. I think it could work, and work well.

*Flashbacks of boyfriend complaining vociferously about being a dead mage and not getting some experience points because I had to wait until the fight was over to resurrect him*
Hopefully that won't happen should a multiplayer (network/LAN) function be included in Riftrunner.

yes, that would be bad. several of the experts could be in a group togeather, and then some newbie stubbles in yelling, "damn. were's aleroth??? huh. what the [nocando] is that elf doing running at me, and that deathknight?? a, crap!!!" yeah, hopefully won't happen.

I wasn't thinking Internet multiplayer, more on a home LAN. My idea of multiplayer would work the same as single-player, only each character is individually controlled. When one of you dies, the game is over and you have to re-load. You oculd do it over the Internet, but you'd need to keep playing with the same person through the whole game.

o, that puts it in a whole new perspective, that would be bad, haveing to restart. But u would have to play like 72 hours of the game straight to beat it

i'd be fine without multiplayer. yes multiplayer adds a new dimension to games but to me divine divinity was fine without it. either way i'm gonna buy this game crosof

When one of you dies, the game is over and you have to re-load. You oculd do it over the Internet, but you'd need to keep playing with the same person through the whole game. Multiplayer is a nice idea actually, but as I always ask: How do you want to implement it if your game story is very obviously based on one single character? Like in DivDiv for example... you play with a couple of fellows... how will you handle the game parts which are only for one single hero(ine)? The most striking example for such a part is the ritual. Do you want to have a dozen Divine Ones only because you want to have multiplayer? And I am pretty sure that the RRR-story is as sophisticated as the DivDiv-one was... and thus, I don't see any way of getting a multiplayer other than allowing two people to play the game - one is the normal guy and the other is the death knight. But quite honestly, I am one of those people who don't really need a multiplayer part. If I want to do something with my friends, I get drunk with them and don't play LAN games.

Well, I really enjoy single-player RPGs on the PC, more than multiplayer. The structure of the game is completely different than what would be needed for multiplayer. In single-player mode I can play whenever I want, I don't have to call someone else just to be able to play it in the LAN. And I have no flatrate internet connection at home, so playing online would be no option for me, too. And when I really want to have "multiplayer RPGs" there is always my Pen&Paper RPG group or I log in to one of the MUDs I play in.
