Is it possible to choose between a female and a male narrator? I dislike the female one I hear in the gameplay videos, there's something obnoxious about that voice. I'd prefer a male narrator since I play a male PC.

Its quite possible that the narrator is the big bad evil guy of the setting.

The narrator isn't meant to be the PC, nor have a sex influenced by the PC's sex. To me the narrator is just the GM. It's Larian narrating what happens when narration is needed.

Choosing the narrator's voice is pure customisation. Larian might decide, at the end, to do a 2nd recording of all the narrator's line, to provide more customisation. But it would be like having a black-haired Astarion or choosing an alternative starting weapon for the clerics. I think it's far down the list of priorities, and I'd personally prefer it if Larian put their money elsewhere.

I would probably prefer a male voice too (depending on the tone of the whole story, maybe an elder gruff voice, or maybe smooth and thoughtful), but what are the chances they are going to do that, realistically?

If you don't like it so much, that you would prefer just read subtitles yourself - narrator voice has it's own volume slider in settings.

The first time I played I thought that the narrator might be your internal voice. It would work well if the narrator uses the voice selected for your character.

Well, for what it's worth, I liked that female voice. To me, it really felt just right.

And as Zellin pointed, there's already a "second voice", which is silencing the narrator.

I fully support your opinion, there are more important things in the game than 100 variations of the narrator's voice (and other voices)

Minthara is the best character and she NEEDS to be recruitable if you side with the grove!

I would prefer a older male voice to. But yeah.. not likely gonna happen.
I'd also prefer non-british voice acting crazy

Perhaps someone wants the voice of a transgender gnome as the voice of the narrator (the third gender neutral option), and 10-20 voices for the main character to choose from, and this is much more important for him than quests, locations, characters ..

But I still think that I don't care how the narrator's voice sounds (and it sounds very good!) Or the main character (remember Commander Shepard, there was no option to choose his voice acting), and there are more important things in the game.

Personally I love the female narrators voice, it's absolutely stunning and even though its slightly monotone (I think I'm using that word right if not sorry) theres still some emotion in it!
Her almost seductive tone fits well with the narrative of the game as well!

I loved the DOS2 narrator I thought he did an amazing job and its nice to have that difference though in this game!

Text-to-speech narrator. Problem solved. Just text to speech the whole game tbh. We demand automobile GPS voice option database implementation for optimal sexy immersion.

"Ambush. 1.200 meters. Make a U-turn with your party in the next junction. 400 meters"

I'll stop now. This is really bad.

Instead of hearing the voice of the narrator, I would prefer to hear the voice of my main character that is pretty much muted at this time in all the cutscenes...

Thats funny, i prefer the female one way better than the male.. I prefer female narrators in general, sexy voice beats monotone voice.
