Data miners discovered a possible lycanthrope origin character in the game files, and it got me thinking about how much I both love lycanthropy, and want it for custom characters in character creation. It would be amazing if throughout the game the player could contract lycanthropy, vamparism, as well as a myriad of other curses throughout the game, but also the ability to cure them if they so desire. It would be even better if at the start of character creation if we could choose if we contracted one of these curses like Lycanthropy (I've been reading up on how it works in D&D 5e, and I think it would be perfect for this game). Maybe the tadpole has interesting interactions with those inflicted with Lycanthropy , just like those that contracted vamprism like Astarion. Maybe during romance scenes a werewolf has to roll to hold back like Astarion, and it leads to new and interesting dynamics that you wouldn't get otherwise with its own drawbacks and benefits. Theres also the risk of spreading the curse to your other party members, and there could be unique moments and interactions for doing so. It all just sounds like too many good opportunities for a writer to pass up. Letting us create a werewolf or vampire spawn wouldn't even take away from Astarion's uniqueness, because of his unique relationship with Cazador (also custom characters need all the help they can get they need more love and care put into them). Look, Larian, all I'm saying is if I can create a werewolf half-drow, warlock, with a pact with Kezef, this would be the best game ever made (only saying that with a smidge of hyperbole, because that would be legitimately incredible).

I suspected there was a werewolf in the bligthed village. When I explored the basement in that kind of bar I guess, I triggered a skill check for something that found some claw marks on the ground.

Not sure if you want spoilers, but those weren't claw marks.

If you place something heavy on the alter (circular pad) where the book is (or book is around), it will deactivate those 'gargoyles.' Getting the book, no matter where it is in the cage then becomes cake.
