Tonight my musing has led me to an interesting plot point I expect will be developed.

We clear the goblins there by opening a way for the Tieflings to meander west towards Baldur's Gate, hooray much celebrating!

Insert so much dialogue about how the tieflings are not good fighters and we have a party celebrating the goblins nest is gone from the temple of Selune. Insert some happy dancing, feast table blah blah. Road sign just at wakeens rest points east Eltorel, west The Moonrise Towers.

Insert the Druid Halsin at our after party discussion talking about how dangerous the road is because of this Shadow Curse zone, now my sleep deprived self takes a few moments to realize that the 'very knowledgeable' Helsin has not shared that with the Tieflings who were staying in his grove. Is he setting them up to be wiped out by the followers of the Absolute? I haven't seen a place where we could share that nugget of information with Zevlor. I don't think they would have been so eager to head out knowing about a twisted cursed portion of road.

Are we likely to be spending the next chapter saving their tails over and over or escorting them to the towers? Should they even go that way?
What say you?

Is one of the multiple "incoherences" from a narrative point of view, just like the fact that if the player has discovered the deep betrayal of Kagha there's no dialogue option to inform Halsin neitherr before nor after the quest end , litterally the only way to manage the dark druid's infiltration is an open fight.

I really hope these plotholes will be solved because just like you said it's weird that not only a druid, who usually are prone to not interfere with the ways of nature (that is if the Thieflings are not able to defende themselves, well tha's parto of the natural cycle), but a good or altruistic character won't share the information about the difficulties that fill both the two roads to Baldur's Gate.

Maybe, Halsin had spoken with Zevlor about it before sharing this info with the protagonist and Zevlor made his choice. Shadow Curse sounds bad enough but the Underdark is not a safer option: all tieflings will be killed, enslaved and tortured by drow or enslaved and eaten by duergar. Also, there is some datamined information (plus an odd message in a bottle you can find in the Underdark) suggesting that Zevlor may be a self-serving bastard in a good disguise, so it's also possible that he was well-informed and he chose this road intentionally. In any case, it definitely feels like there will be some sads inviolved: there is a reason why Act 1 spent so much time on providing us with opportunities to bond with tieflings.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye out for it.

It's
on the shoreline in the hole the Kuatoa are in. And yes I had it before finishing the goblin quest and there were no new dialogue options. Just the "grunt" or w/e was there before. Maybe that will get more development.

Datamining spoilers. Huge spoilers:

Dataminers have found text in the code that someone in the grove is working for the Absolute and the refugees are being marched into the hands of the True Souls. This may or may not be an early draft of the plot that was abandoned.

Someone more perceptive than I noticed that the song at the party is a variation on the harpy's song. Suggesting that the party is part of an effort to lull everyone into a false sense of security.

And then there's that note in the bottle . . .

Well, Zevlor always seemed a bit dodgy to me, I just hope, we will be able to save the refugees for good. I've grown to like some them.

We're going inland (east) to that tower, via curse or underdark
they're going south along the coast to BG, I assume we won't cross paths again until the city.

Minthara is the best character and she NEEDS to be recruitable if you side with the grove!

This. Moonrise and BG are in slightly different directions. Even though the only way to Moonrise is through the SCL or the Underdark, BG is far more accessible.

The concept of a dead zone between elturel and BG seems like it would be a big deal, big enough that it would be common knowledge
