Is the quest log not supposed to be transparent? Is that the problem?

No, it looked the same on my questbook before I switched from german to English.

Threadopener: Do the little arrows on the left side not work? Is that the problem?

left side, I'm so lost.....hahaha i didn't see the arrow.

To be fair, those arrows are miniscule.

I didn't finde them at first too and looked online, if that was a bug. They are really missable.
