ha! Only confirmes I am not Larian's intended audience as I sit in confusion thinking: Is it a joke? Reference? Why is Astarion, a medieval fantasy vampire somewhat aware of social media? It's not like Archer, who thanks to being set in modern world can do in character Q&A without breaking the fabric of reality. Wouldn't it at least make more sense, if the skit pretended that Astarion is a digital actor playing an Astarion (like in Who Framed Roger Rabbit) then weird in camp thingy?

Yea, unfortunately I'm very much not the target audience/humour style for this kind of thing. I'm kind of tired of the constant jokes/sass with everything they do, but I know it's popular, so that's fair.

To be fair, the fact that we're posting on a forum in 2022 pretty much means we're likely not the main target customers of any mainstream game lol.

I'll admit 'Only Fangs' is actually a decent enough pun but this is about as obvious a case of preaching to the choir as you could get. I suppose on the one hand it's sort of funny if you like that kind of thing but on the other it leaves me a little bemused why you would choose to associate a BG/D&D game with OnlyFans even for an April fools?

TBH I’m not surprised. Larian has always been thirsty. Go look up the cover for Divine Divinity.

I took it as a funny April Fool's joke. Something unrelated to the game. Even better that they got the voice actor to do it.

My opinion is that if you want a deeply evil character with no good side, Astarion isn't the dude for you. He's chaotic and definitely not good aligned but somewhere in D&D rules they took out the standard alignment chart anyways. They may give him a redemption style arc or he could go ala Bishop from Neverwinter Nights 2 (I am still not over that one!). We will find out.

As for not being the target audience, that's ok. You can still have a product or go to a store that's not marketed for you. Also your choice to not play the game when it comes out. I'm excited but I completely understand it isn't everyone's style.

Hahaha! But I used forum for a first time only couple years ago - first Obsidian's, now Larian's. I was surprised how civilized they are. Maybe all the riffraff moved on.

The Obsidian forums (especially the POE boards) had some of the most knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly people I've ever met on the internet. Really great place.

i genuinely dislike astarion. i have no idea why. may how he looks? i don't really have issue with said sosiel or daeran (in pathfinder) though. similar in dragon age i dislike and hated zevran and anders.
