I have finished Divine Divinity. It is most certainly one of my all time favorite RPG's. And I have been playing RPG's since the very beginning of the genre. Right now I have around 20 other RPG's ready to be played and beaten. Both on console systems and the pc. And here I sit wanting to replay DD. I can't remember the last time I replayed and RPG. I have always had way to many games that needed to be played through.

Have you replayed DD? Did you do so because of how much you enjoyed the game? Or was it because you didn't have any other compelling games to play? I wanna know about your replaying DD experiences.

How old are you? RPGs have been around a very long time!

I haven't finished the game yet, but I would happily go through it again one day with the Wizard. I think playing with characters mostly true to their class is a lot more interesting. I'll probably get into something else first before I replay it though.

I am 31. I started playing with the Atari 2600 at a very early age lol. And have been gaming ever since. RPG's have always been my favorite.

I don't have DD yet (I get it next week via mail...may as well join the forums early), but from my experience there has only been a very little amount of games I would love to replay. Fallout 1 and 2 come to mind.

From what my friend DEATHATTHEDOOR tells me, DD is a NICE game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am replaying because:
- I wanted to try a thief
- I had nothing else to play and I am not yet ready to replay Arcanum in the 8th time.

I wanted a pure, untainted Survivor, though I HAD to buy Metheor Strike early in the game so that I could kill more easily. I think the survivor character isn't ballanced so well.

You're not kidding on the survivor bit, I'm replaying the game in hard mode this time and on top of that I'm not using the almighty beefy warrior this time either. I hope surviver can come close to the damage that my warrior did with his monster 2h axe but I doubt it, I don't see a dagger mastery skill anywhere, only backstab. woops!

Well, a survivior has no dagger mastery, but he(or she <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />) has backstabb which, at highter, levels, work 50%.

Now that I think of it, I don't remember seeing many daggers in DD when I played a warrior... Maybe I should've played a mage.

Two of the better daggers consistently in the game are the Nobleman's Dagger from the holy items quest and the one in the chest in the back of Kistandalius' shop in Ars Magicana (which you get one brief chance to steal). Playing a warrior, I saw a fair number of daggers, but never really paid attention to the stats; some of them were worth a lot of gold, though.

I remember the Nobleman's Dagger. Didn't remember the other one as I played warrior so I didn't even bother to check the stats <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
Nice! I just finished the first dungeon (using a cracked dirk :\) and I intend to go to Geoff for repairs...

Heh, when you think about it, backstab is actually a dagger mastery for the Survivor class that only works 50% of the time (except for the fact that backstab does double dmg instead of +50%). And on top of that, you don't have the choice of backstabbing with a 2 handed weapon. Talk about short changing the dagger wielders... It's gonna take a long time to kill anything in hard mode. I would have to put points into every melee enhancing skill there is.

I have many games sitting waiting for me to play and/or finish. Nevertheless, I have chosen to replay DD. Reason: it was a great game, I had lots of fun with it, and I played a warrior and wanted to try the other characters. This time around, I am playing a mage.

I replayed it a couple of times because it is good fun, very flexible, and there is a lot you can miss going through it that you can discover on a replay.

And - most importantly - because I enjoy it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Cool, another ancient guy who remembers the 8-bit RPG days. I'm right there with ya, except I would have made fun of your Atari while bragging about how much better my Commodore 64 was. I would have really rubbed it in too. It probably would have scarred you for life.

Yep, DD is one of the best, and I've replayed it several times. My intent is usually to try a radically different character, maxing a new skill branch, but it never works out that way. Or I'll break a quest and want to try again.
I replay just to play it better: do the quests in the most efficient order, maximize XP, or just have a larger collection of emeralds than last time.

... so I stripped down to nothing but a Super Big Gulp cup and rubberband, and ran up the street screaming "Swing me, gringo!"

Recently I played <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> for the second time - with a mage as character.

Unfortunately, I bought Wizardry 8 in the meantime, so I wanted to finish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> as soon as possible ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

I'm currently playing Wizardy 8 , and I like this game very much.

Oh yeah! Wizardry 8 by Sir Tech Canada... Wizardry is a legendary title, I only played the demo of the 8th but I loved it. Since it was published by Electronic Boutique (can you believe that a game like this couldn't find a publisher?!), it's impossible to find the game now, I couldn't get it. It saddens me when I think that Sir Tech closed down after Wiz8.
