Hi, I'm facing heavy stuttering in BG 3 with the GPU dropping clock speed every couple of seconds but it doesn't happen with other graphics heavy games like God of War, Death Stranding, etc.
Why are those games able to use the GPU properly but not BG 3?

Is this something simmilar to occasional 1-5 seconds freezes?
Thats what i experience since patch 6 aproximately.

I allways thought its bcs of unfinished state of game, people often say that optimalisation is done in final phases of development.

It happens to me if the total CPU usage is more than 60%
That's why I close everything before starting BG3 - then it works fine

@RagnarokCzD, I see at most 1 second freezes, maybe it's because of the game's unfinished state but it really worries me to be honest. I usually run the game with everything else closed but it doesn't happen. There's heavy GPU throttling happening and I simply don't know the cause...

I get freezes as well ever few minutes. I have closed every app and service. CPU spikes to 100% and network spikes as well even after turning off stats tracking.

What is your cpu? Like mentioned somewhere around patch 7 this started to stutter with low end cpus.

Reason is that one thread of cpu hits to close 100% and causes problems. This is now reasonably cpu single thread heavy game. There are tools available to monitor your cpu to see this.

Only cpu I can reproduce this is amd ryzen 3100. All my faster cpus do not suffer this.

I've got an i9-9900K CPU and an RTX 2080 which should be powerful enough, I've been tinkering with settings and it looks like V-Sync might be the culprit, I was experiencing stuttering running the game on 1920x1080 resolution and it stopped happening when I disabled V-Sync and enabled DLSS in performance mode. I can run the game in 4K now without issues, tested with the latest patch and DirectX 11 (not Vulkan).
