Last time I heard of Lionheart I thought of it as an arcanum rip-off. Well, I might be wrong, of course, so I'll go check...

Yeah, the game is nothing special. The only interesting idea is how the 'sneak' function is done, the rest was used before.
Of course I might be wrong. I might get that game to try it out.

if you see the screenshots,
you see that the interface uses 1/3 of the schreen!
my experiance is that the schreen where the information apperars "gets 12 piercing damage" etc...
it's not so good readable (for me)
i would prefere that the text box would be in the full lengt of the schreen, soo you could see a full sentence in 1 row instead of multiple rows

if you understand what i'm saying

Which one? Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel or Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel?

Sorry but you are wrong.

Lionheart uses the VELOCITY engine, developed by Reflexive.

It is based SOMEWHAT on the fallout engines, in that it has turned based combat and uses the SPECIAL system.

With that said, I can't wait for this game!!

sorry, got my info mixed up. gameplay's very much like fallout tactic: BOS. not fallout: BOS. i don't know how the latter plays though.

i don't know the reason for the bashing of whichever fallout game but fallout tactics is the one that got me hooked to fallout games & SPECIAL system.

go read the interview in Adrenaline Vault for more info. info regarding NPC level vs player level & random item & stats regeneration are very interesting, at least to me.

FOS: Brotherhood of Steel was the bashed one. The forum is still closed. Evidently Interplay is too thin-skinned.

So Lionheart is all turn-based, like Fallout? Oh, well, one game more to cross off the "to get" list.

Turn based can be good if its well done. Fallouts problem wasnt that it was turn based, it was that the AI was sucky (Especially for your companions, talk about friendly fire). Im willing to wait and see what the reviews say.

I can't, and am not going to try to, stand turn-based (with an exception for the "real-time turn-based" used in the FF games), and that is that. I do not need minutes after minutes to click an "attack" button, thanks. Real-time with a pause option prevails any time, any day.

I deeply hate Fallout series, Arcanum, and PoRII for this. I don't care how good the rest of the game is; if I have to suffer sucky combat and have no way to avoid it, the game's off my harddrive.

Each to their own. If all that was involved in a turn based system was clicking attack Id hate it too . I havent played PorII or Arcanum (Too many sucky reviews) so I dont know how they play.

I cannot pass by and see my N01 game ever trashed ;0).
In Arcanum you can press "spacebar" to toggle turnbased and real time...

As for you, Mandrake, look here.
Average ratio of 80%. That's pretty high with 50+ reviewers.

I'm well aware of Arcanum's option to toggle between real-time and turn-based. Real-time is too fast; turn-based is too slow. The combat of this game is, simply put, an ugly mess. (I can probably sit down and list its flaws, but I don't really have the energy to reinstall the game.) The "fatique" system is just ridiculous. The game, to me, is unplayable. All my opinions, of course.

Mandrake: I was simplifying. Casting spells, selecting abilities, whatever -- I don't require five minutes a round for these. And I don't mind Death. He's a nice fellow, once you get to know him...
