With the announcement of the PS5 Pro, will there be a Pro patch for BG3?

No. The Pro should naturally make games look better. Plus they're only doing patch 7, crossplay and photomode. After that they've said they're moving on.

There are 2 optimizations with the PS5 Pro; patch-based from the developers, and the native "boost" feature that will automatically enhance games due to the extra processing power. BG3 will require an actual patch to do more than the minor single-digit framerate bump the Boost feature MAY supply.

Patch 7, crossplay, photomode have nothing to do with a PS5 Pro patch and there will be more patches after patch 7 as per Larian:

"We’ve still got a few more patches up our sleeve for Baldur’s Gate 3 – which will include both crossplay and photo mode, alongside other fixes and updates."

"a few patches" means we possibly have 3 more patches releasing, it will most likely be close to this roadmap:

- Patch 8 - Includes crossplay or photomode and a bunch of fixes, most likely the PS5 Pro patch will be included.

- Patch 9 - Includes crossplay or photomode and a bunch of fixes. PS5 Pro patch included if it wasn't in Patch 8

- Patch 10 (Definitive Edition) - The last patch with the last of the fixes released, along with all previously released limited cosmetics unlocked (CE Dice Skin, Spike Chunsoft preorder dice skin, etc.) and a few new ones. Possibly a new physical Definitive Edition available in their Merch Store to generate more money for their next project plus something to entice players to play through again.

I guess we will see in the coming months!

The only thing that would be important would be to officially activate the native camera mods so that consoles can also play it, literally, who needs a photo mode? Kch can do this automatically with the native camera mod. If you now look at the current 69 mods that are available on the console, then I have to laugh, the only mod that is any good is Party Limit, the other one is pretty cheesy and that's it. oh ok the mystique men character maybe still. 3 highlights, wow I'm impressed. Guys, that's far too little and there's no improvement in sight because Larian is opposed to adding things to your game yourself, then you don't need any mods on the console.
Hopefully they can at least do this by the release of the PS5 Pro on November 7th, but I have concerns that there will even be a patch for the PS5 Pro. Is that confirmed or just a guess on your part?

This is just my hypothesis for future patches based on how Larian has released previous patches.

We know patches have a main highlight feature, plus various fixes:

Patch 1 = Official Launch Fixes
Patch 2 = Withers Wardrobe
Patch 3 = Mac support + Magic Mirror
Patch 4 = Color-blind Settings
Patch 5 = Epilogue + New Game Modes
Patch 6 = Improved Romance Animations
Patch 7 = Mods + Evil Endings

With this info, I think the next patches will follow the same theme:

Patch 8 = Crossplay or Photo Mode + PS5 Pro patch
Patch 9 = Crossplay or Photo Mode
Patch 10 = Definitive Edition (PS5 Pro patch here is it isn't added before)

Then the last hotfixes to complete and finish all work on the game.

For the PS5 Pro patch, I think the Patch 8 release will have something in it to persuade the console users on the fence to purchase BG3 and receive a bump in revenue for their current projects. If not, it could be in the Definitive Edition.

A Definitive Edition is speculated only because Divinity Original Sin 1&2 had the same patch theme as well, and again, it seems like a no-brainer for one last push of BG3 sales to sell as much BG3 product at the end of its lifecycle to fund their current projects.
