EDITED This is my first play through and I have a question regarding some choices I need to make for Act 3. I've come to the end of Act 3 and need to figure out the best way to proceed. I need to choose whether to free Orpheus or not. I've read some reddits and all the ones I have read mention having Lae'zel in the party and her giving advice/thoughts. However, way back in Act 1 and while I was still learning game mechanics and how to navigate, I came across Lae'zel in a hanging cage. I killed the nasty folks holding her, but couldn't figure out how to free her from the cage, I walked around a bit, hoping to find something to help, but when I got back she was gone and I never saw her again. I didn't know you could shoot it with an arrow.
The upshot is, no Lae'zel in my party ever and so no questline for her. No Githyanki Creche, no Vlaakith and no Voss. But I do have all the Netherstones.
So I have figure out what to do with Orpheus and if it is worth freeing him without Lae'zel. Or if it is even possible. The quest shows up, but I have only gotten the "free sample information" about Gortash from the Devil's Fee shop and then I left. Can I even proceed to free Orpheus from here?
It appears that the diabolist Helsik will not tell me anything more. So, even though the quest marker is on her, she gives no more info, so maybe I can't free Orpheus.
That's the gist of it. Thanks for the feedback!

Orpheus is a minor choice without Lae'zel [assumes you are not gith yourself] so honestly it doesn't matter that much the bigger question is who becomes a squid? i.e, is it going to be you or will someone else take the bullet and if you don't want it yourself then Orpheus can step up... Karlach is your only other option
Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it. Yoda: That is why you failed.

You can do it without Lae'zel, Raphael should have already told you the solution (how to do it). The outcome (the epilogue) depends on if a) you have this one item, and b) how you obtained this item.
