Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Mod Verification screen freezes game; unable to use mods with Patch 8 stress test

I’m not sure if anyone else has this problem as well. After updating some of the mods I have downloaded previously, the Mod Verification screen causes the game to freeze. Usually the Mod Verification screen shows which mods that it wants you to enable, but it shows an empty screen with the three options at the bottom, “disable mod,” “start game,” and “close” without the controller’s button icons next to it. So the controller does not respond when I press the buttons. Now I can only play the vanilla game from the beginning. I can’t load any of the previously saved games because they all have mods. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice, and it didn’t help. Same problem showed up each time. Uninstall and reinstall does not get rid of Patch 8. Is there a way to cancel or back out of Patch 8 stress test? Thank you.

so to be clear, you have not tried playing patch 8 without your mods yet?

I have played it with mods. There were some small issues such as no descriptions of each icon on the radial menu when you point to any of them using the right stick. However, after I visited the mod manager and updated some of the mods I’ve downloaded, the issue with Mod Verification screen appeared. It freezes the game, and I needed to manually close the game.
