Just a tip to run away from Owlbear cub if he does not de-aggro after taking out the parents. He will show up after the second long rest if you have done the goblin camp already.

He did for me anyways, on the Mountain pass just before I was prepping to move on to Act 2.
Very happy he blessed my camp with his presence this time too.

This is a good tip!
I dunno how many times I've felt like I couldn't get the poor cub when I wanted him, but it's been more than 4 at least!
Love doing playthroughs of this game, this'll help a lot!

I'm glad I could help GalexMystra!

I think knocking him out is probably the most common reason for him not to show up. The game often register knock-out as a kill, and the cub is not temporarily hostile (and I have had the game count temp hostile knock-out as kills too!) so he will effectively be dead in that scenario.

And is moving to Act 2 before resolving the mother/cave issue also a reason for losing out on the cub? If someone knows I would love for them to chime in.

If you have to, but it''s something I did once and it's really tedious.

The surefire way to solve the issue is to kill the second Owlbear first, the mother second and then the cutscene of the cub eating her corpse can trigger reliably.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

I just had to run away for the first time, too. I was doing honor mode for the first time, man what a slog being careful. Anyway, I got the legendary "call mate" action, survived, but the cub didn't de-aggro!

I didn't know what to do. I ran for the exit, got 3 through it, and just as the 4th approached the exit, the cub de-aggroed, I presume from distance. I didn't hang around, counted my luck, and went through.

Maybe it's a "feature" of honor mode hardness?
