In the Creche, Vlacketh backstabbed me, so, reluctantly, Lae'zel is taking care of business. For some reason nobody will talk to her anymore, even though she is amenable.

Anyway, fighting in the entrance hall, doing well. One caster is about 15 feet away, well within range with no jump necessary. I click Menacing Attack, then her.

I turn around, take a couple of steps away, then turn back around and leap at her with a massive overhand swing. It doesn't go well for her, in spite of not even being a crit.

I've never seen this before. I do not have anything that automatically does leaping, if such a thing even exists. The combat log shows a normal but big whomp, and cull the weak got her.

Is this something new as far as animations go? It sure looks awesome.

And it doesn't take up the bonus action if it was an actual jump?

In my first game Lae'zel had a reaction (either Riposte or Sentinel) that looked really cool when, in reaction to an enemy's attack, she'd leap straight up and bring the sword down on their head.

I don't know if it also consumed a bonus action. I have Feinting attack, which consumes the action and bonus action, but I don't even have it programmed on a button. It was stock booming attack.

Hmmmm...I've seen leaping, and leaping to do thunder damage, but not a big overhead whomp as you fly through the air.
