Consequently, Win98 isn't listed there anymore.

The free SpyHunter scanner is just that, a scanner; if you want to remove the spyware you have to get the shareware version.

See also Spybot Search & Destroy and/or AdAware.

New Warning : Sober.C (is currently "available" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> here in Germany, but might spread rapidly).

It fakes to be an E-Mail from the German police addressing people who might have downloaded things from shared networks.

There is a security risc with a company using pop-ups for advertising their "anti-popup"-program.

I'm awfully sorry, but I have only a german-language text about that :

Advertisement using Trojans

And this is an English PDF document about that being mentioned there :
http://www.cdt.org/privacy/20040210cdt.pdf

I'll post it in the appropriate thread in the CHat area, too.

English Version : Trojan working as a Spam-Robot

German Article :

Trojaner als Spam-Roboter

The German article says that there are further informations about it.

(Yes, German has a plural form of "information" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> )

Please Be Extremely Careful Especially if using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail and so on.
This information arrived this morning from Microsoft and Norton.
Please send it to everybody you know who accesses the Internet.
[color:"yellow"]You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation "Life is beautiful. pps".
If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES,
and delete it immediately.
If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying:

[color:"cc33cc"]"It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful",
subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who
sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.
WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS VIRUS.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, ...
and the antivirus Softs are not capable of destroying it.
The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner".

WoW eh? What some ppl do for attention! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />
