I got an email from support about this issue. Here are the steps I took to fix this issue.

1. uninstall Divinity2 and then remove the cd.
2. restart pc
3. download and run SecuROM™ Removal Tool Information
4. restart pc
5. rerun the removal tool
6. restart pc
7. reinstall Divinity2
8. play the game

Hopefully this will help any one else with the same issue. If not contact support@securom.com. First email you get back will be an automated one with instructions on what to do if thier support site does not help you.
