Ending reminded me of the point where you found out what was really going on in BioShock - "Would you kindly..." mind control
At least in BioShock you had a little bit more of the game to play and you it had multiple endings...
I can see why most don't like the ending - you do all that work only to find out it was for nothing... But it does setup the next game pretty well - REVENGE!
