hey

im in act 4 and i just found out that i overlooks 2 books that teach the raanaar language. anyone has an idea of how to get them? or inv files with them? i found only the 1st 1 from act 1 but the 2nd and 3rd (are there any more?) mean time ive been picking up everything in raanaarn and my inv is full of books i cant read...

There are 3 Raanaar books

First Raanaar Book

Acte I - Citadel - Level II

The book is in the room n°5.

Second Raanaar Book

Acte II - Shaman's cavern

The book is in the room n°3.

Third Raanaar Book

Act III - Temple - Level VII

The book is in the room n°3.

The 3 maps are from Hellfighter's site.

Unfortunately, the books only work properly to teach within the act they are found. Someone discovered this after picking up one of the books (by drag and dropping into their inventory), without clicking on it to read until the next act.
You can get by without reading any of the Raanaar manuscripts. The ruins are modifications of the standard alphabet, so at least in theory you could translate them manually.

OUTCH the manual part will take ages..... but i am sure will be a brilliant knowledge to have.... and i am sure writing in ranaar will be an intersting exam cheat notes idea.... (i wish i could go back to school)

so, what your saying is that unless im gonna decyper every book i have (and i do have a lot of em) im not gonna read raanaarn? ok. am i missing something of even slight interest?

i do like the idea of learning the language. it can be pretty sweet writing like that. a sort of private code...

You're missing quest hints and explanations required for quests in Act 4 - but you can solve those quests, even if you can't read. It might be a bit difficult though - as the code of behaviour is pretty long (those Raanaar numbers on the wall in the 2nd starting room).

IIRC, I made screenies of them - have to search and will upload them.

and for the 1st and 2nd summoning test in lvl 2 it might be nice to understand 2 books
and in the 3rd lvl there is a cheat paper note for a number combination, might be nice to understand it as well (not vital)

well, it did take me a while to figure out that what to do in the knowledge test, but once i figured the teleporters are actully number pads, and the raanaar numeric system (up to 16 at least) the rest was easy. and thanks anyway, but dont bother with the books. im already on level 4 and im going to battle field.[color:"red"] [/color] SPOILER:[color:"black"] [/color] samual kicked my [nocando]... and its funny coz in the last couple of times, i did manage to beat him....
