Is it possible to edit an existing profile to add the kickstarter loots? I can see a way and don't really want to start my game over.

As much as I understand we have to create a new profile if we want to activate the code.
Maybe you can check where the game is saving the savegame files, maybe in a folder named from your profile name? You may copy the files somewhere else, then delete the profile in the game, than make the profile again, paste the code, and copy back the files?

I have no idea if this works, but you can give it a try if the other don't have a better idea...

Try creating a new profile, and copy a save over from your existing one.

Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames' folder.
