Okay, I am SO not getting this.

My character likes daggers, so I put points into One-Handed Piercing Accuracy. Five points gets me 44 accuracy, IIRC. My Deathknight likes two-handed swords, so I put points into Two-Handed Slashing Accuracy, and five points gets him 104 accuracy.

We both have 10 agility. What am I missing? Do I really need 10 points or more to get 100 accuracy with daggers?

Well, two-handers are also pretty slow, so they have to make it count i guess.

There does seem to be some disparity in Accuracy. For instance:

My Hero is level 45, and uses a Dagger (just switched to sword)
Has zero points any Melee skill at all (all in Magic)
My Agility is 75 which says "Accuracy +50"
My Survival is 74 which says "Accuracy +25"

So +50 and +25 should equal 75 Accuracy right? Wrong... my accuracy is only 63... go figure.

Now, my gear has a total of -17 accuracy. So +50, +25, -17 would be 58.

Equipment accuracy penalties are in percent, though, so 17% off 75 is 63 (or close enough, allowing for round off errors).

There's two diffrent Accuracy's. There is your Accuracy score which is just a number and there is your Chance To Hit which is a percentage.
 • Accuracy score is based on Agility and Survival.
 • This score is then modified by all of your equipment and skills.
 • Then this number is compared to the target's Evasion score (how they relate I'm not entirely sure).
 • The result from that is your Chance To Hit.

For example:

70 Accuracy from Agility and Survival.
-10% from equipment.
+40% from Weapon Skill.

70 x (100 – 10 + 40)%
= 70 x 130%
= 91 Accuracy

Hope this helps!

The accuracy % I'm worried about though is the one stated on the skills screen, not anything on the character stats section of the inventory plate. The one where you spend your points. Surely that just states a base skill-derived accuracy %? If not, that could make spending points wisely even more difficult.

The Accuracy factor in the Melee skills (alongside Damage, Durability, Critial Hit and Deathblow) is a boost to your Accuracy score, not your Accuracy percentage.

I still don't understand why it takes twice as many points to get the same results in 1-handed/piercing as in 2-handed/slashing, but thanks.
