Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems DDHelp error mesage Ver 1.45

When I start the game and try to apply my skill points, I will crash to the desk top with the DDHelp error message. This same error occures in comabat and the inventory screen too.
I Have a AMD Athon XP 2200+, Nvidia GeForce 4ti 4400, Ver. 4.14.10.5304, SoundBlaster Audigy 1, 512 Mb pc2100 ram, Windows ME (no comments please <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />), & yes I installed Dx9.0b as required from the game cd (You must do this to play even if you already have Dx9.0b installed???)

I have no problems with games like Sacred or Gothic 2, ore even Knights of the Temple, just <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />

I sent my dxdiag.txt to tech support without any replys from them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting to play?
You can skip the DirectX install when installing the game (and delete the install files in the '..\Beyond Divinity\DirectX9' folder).

DDHelp is a tool running on Dell Computers that sometimes causes errors in software. It is advisable to update to Dell's latest drivers, and if necessary, stop the DDHelp tool before playing.

I made the BIG change. I changed my Mother Board and Memory, The did a "clean install" of Windows ME. So far nomore CTD's <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

No; I do not have a Dell system. DDHelp is a microsoft directX executable that should terminate DirectX apllications when you quit or exit them (like games).
