I've been playing for awhile and am level 14, but just found wall switches to open doors (duh) so went back to beginning of catacombs. I put a blue orb in each of the two pentagrams made from candles, 1 at entrance and another outside of locked room with stairwell, but can't seem to find the 3rd pentagram. What am I missing?

If you want to avoid spoilers, the 3 pentagrams you need are all by the locked room with the stairwell (change your darkness setting in the video options to 50, and turn up your gamma as required). For the pentagram with candles, have you tried lighting all of the candles?

larian does not know that a pentagram is 5 equal
sides. Notice i said equal. If you use the spoiler
i wonder if you agree?

PS: I hope YOU are prepared cause something

In my experience, 5 sided, equal length polygons are much more often called pentagons than pentagrams.

pentagram - from dictionary.com

n. [Gr. ?, neut. of ? having five lines. See Penta-, and -gram.] A pentacle or a pentalpha.

n : a star with 5 points; formed by 5 straight lines between the vertices of a pentagon and enclosing another pentagon [syn: pentacle]

I have to get to a Witch Warlock store.
There is one in chicago but i wont be
in chicago untill november or december.
However!! In the realm of magic your
witches and warlocks agree if you dont
draw a perfect pentagram (IE : gon )
Dire Consequences will happen!! Black magic
is highly vunerable to insults and that is
one of them.

I don't think there's any requirement for the sides to be equal, or even that it forms a star. To my understanding, it has 5 sides with angles totalling 180°. A triangle or a pentagon doesn't need to have equal sides or angles, so long as they're straight and add up to 180° and 540° respectively.

Certainly, you'd want to use perfect pentagrams (or any other meaningful shape) for magical purposes. The ones in the picture are just squished because of the perspective.

Or just messed up due to failed summonings I haven't seen a single summoning in the game that went right

Okay! Lets say 5 sided but unequal in length! Let's
try combinations? IE: all fruit? or ALL metals but
different kinds; or even different materials?
Also when you use candles they may not be generic.
Candles for summoning must be made of animal fat.
( Tallow ) Hard to find these days. Summoning
of a ancient being ( Golem ) requires what kind
of star? 6 sided and it's in the jewish religious
texts. Some experments have been done with 10 sided
stars. The witches coven in England said results
were inconclusive. IE: if 5 is good 10 should
double the power? And after all this said;
do you know that putting certain items in the
center of the pentagram can increase its
potential to work and or be an offering to what
your summining?
I really can't say more with any certainy as
I need to talk with my old coven in chicago.
I haven't practiced in 40 to 45 years now so
i may be behind in some things.
But I urge anyone not to follow in the realm of
practcing magic. The bible says You seek the devil
you will find him. Do not seek him; abide by my
commandments. ( not king james; old writings
from a monistary parts of which became part of
the bible )
