I tried posting this bug report yesterday and it didn't show up, so I emailed it to support@larian.com. Today I decided to try again. Here goes:
I just started playing Beyond Divinity with the latest patch (1.45). So far it's been a stable and very enjoyable experience. I've only played three times, but here are the bugs I've found so far.
- I like to play the game with the camera auto-centered. Each and ever time I load a game (which is often given how much I die), the auto-center turns itself off. Which means each time I load a game I have to also hit "x" afterward to turn this feature back on.
- Whenever I save my game with the game paused, it gets unpaused as soon as its done. This is unwanted because often I pause so I can make some decisions, decide to save just in case, and then have to have my finger hovering over the space bar so I can re-pause it as soon as it's done saving.
- I often give extra stuff to my death night to share the weight around. But for some reason, whenever I give something to my death night, he always wears it or equips it. This is fine if it's the first weapon or armor I give him, but it's annoying that each time I unload a bunch of junk on him that I'm planning on trading, I then have to switch over to his inventory and put back on all the stuff I actually want him to wear.
- The large journal map for battlefield level 1 is messed up in various ways (I haven't yet gotten to any other battlefield). For one thing, the zoom in/out buttons have no effect, and the map remains completely zoomed in. Sometimes notes that I add to the map won't appear until I've closed and opened it again. Additionally, if I leave and re-enter the battlefield, the entire map is dark again, but then appears back in big blocks as I walk around. These bugs look like they're all related to a simple refresh error.
- I talked to Rupert for the first time and he told me that he was suspicious that the lead archer cheats. I then asked him what he can teach me, and then said I didn't want to learn anything. His reply was "Very well, you'd helped me discover the truth, so I . . ." I hadn't helped him solve this quest yet, so he shouldn't be saying that.
- Near there is an imp called Rashex or something, who is supposed to kill some rats. I confront him and reveal who he is. Yet I can still ask him what his name is and he tries to lie to me. After helping him, he openly says his name when referring to himself, yet I am still able to ask his name and he'll lie about it.
- One of my battlefield quests has a diary description that starts "A haphazardly Olaf . . ." This is a grammar error.
- This isn't exactly an error, but as a person who dies a lot, I don't like that every time I hit escape and try to load it asks me "Are you sure you want to lose the current game?" It's a very simple thing to not ask that question if the game notices that I'm dead, and it would save me from answering it hundreds of times.
- Here's a feature request, but I'll stick it in this list anyway: I love it when RPGs keep track of how long I've been playing. Can you make it so that in the saved game info it also note current playing time?
