How well does it match up with the Diablo series?

ROFL, BD reviewed by a Diablo fan site.

After reading the several page review I finally realized what I had never understood about BD - it is not Diablo! What a revelation, I knew there was something different, I just could not put my finger on it.

I must say that I was rather intrigued by the advertisements on the same pages as the review. Especially the one that said something like "Low priced Diablo items, 3 hour delivery time...". Again I must be playing BD wrong, because I am still actually going into the game to finding my own items... Now if I were playing Diablo, I could just buy a bunch of items and in 3 hours I will be a super-hero without having to spend many more hours actually having the fun of finding my own.

One's Divine and the other is the devil. How much more different can you get?

Diablo is considered to be the benchmark of Action RPGs. Though I wouldn't call Diablo an RPG but an 'Isometric action game with stats', unlike Divinity.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with Diablo when you look at it from the 'isometric action game' point of view.

Same. At least PC Gamer didn't have the Diablo guy review it, they had the hardcore guy (Desslock) do it, and the only reference to Diablo was the battlefields.
